She is coming back

My wife is coming back from Bali tonight. Her plane should touch down at Changi Airport near midnight. She didn't call or send me any message for the past few days. Bet she was too busy enjoying herself. Well, I had a peaceful, relaxing time on my own too. Sometimes it's really nice to take a break... Come tomorrow, it's the first day of April. What else, April Fool's Day!!! Be careful.

Blessings

Is it the blessing my master gave yesterday or my parents came to bless me during this tomb sweeping festival? I believe in both. You wouldn't believe I won $300 from the consolation prize this evening. No money is too little for me and this will be the seed money for future investment in the lottery. Yes, I have this gut feeling that something big is on the way. Hopefully when it comes, it will be all the way. Haha..... It's okay to dream big at times.

Whatever, I pray that everyone to be in good health with lot of peace and happiness. Of course, money comes in handy when we pamper ourself with a little luxury. But it is not everything. Money without the rest is meaningless and misery. Just be happy always and let the luck comes. Good luck!!!

Staying at home

There she goes..... Yes, Margaret left for her company vacation in Bali this evening. She would return on Monday early morning. She deserves this break and hope she enjoys her relaxing moments there.

What are my programmes for this super long weekend? I really do not know. Tomorrow is Good Friday, a public holiday. For I am not a Christain,  I don't attend church. Most probably I will find  time to go to Palelai Temple instead.

A simple man with a simple life. Like what my colleague commented, ' You stay at home most of the time'. Yes, I find peace at home. Very relaxing especially after a hard day's work. That's my lifestyle.

A soft toy

OMG! I nearly threw away this soft toy. I have been clearing unwanted stuff at home especially our storeroom. What the hell were we keeping the damaged luggages for? Old winter jackets, caps, gloves, clothings, etc. All of them were too small for us. Were we really that slim? Those not in good condition, we threw them away. And those which were okay, we brought them down to our void deck and left them at the junk corner. Somehow, someone would pick them up.

I found the above soft toy in my wardrobe and asked Margaret if she still wanted to keep it. She said it's okay to get rid of it. When I was about to throw, I saw a card attached to it. To my surprise, it was sign off from my daughter and presented to who else but me. A thousand apologies. I really couldn't remember this present. Though the price on the price tag was torn but not the company. You wouldn't believe it. She bought it fron Daimaru Departmental Store which closed down many years ago.

It goes without saying that this soft toy goes back to my wardrobe. Hopefully she can tell me more about this present when she returns from the States next month.

A father

I asked my mother many times why she had to worry for her children every now and then. Even when most of us were in our 40s and 50s. She should be happy that all of us had grown up, settle down with our own family. Of course, one or two children would not be well each year. 'I don't know why. It comes naturally.' That's her reply. A mother is always a mother.

No doubt my children has grown up and graduated, I thought my responsibility as a father has ended. But no. I do worry for them a lot more. Their jobs, lifestyle, loved ones, etc. The saddest thing was.... maybe I blah too much and my daughter told me off. 'Dad, I am doing all these using my own money.' I got her hint that she didn't need a single cent from me for her US trip.

Mom, now I know how you felt all those years. And I have to say, 'A father is always a father.'

Borrowed happiness

I came out to work upon finishing my National Service. Though earning very little at that time, I contributed to my household expenses. That left me a poor, poor young man. I spent within my means but never in debt.

Recently, I heard of youth of today happily spent and signed their card. The problem is they are unable to settle their monthly bill. What they do is to pay the minimun sum and let the credit roll. Needless to say, it's with high interest.

So sad. These people thought earning big money is so easy and many of them fell into the trap. Many couples went seperate ways or divorced. I know of friends who took many years to settle their debt. Worst, they are highly educated.

Please do not live on borrowed happiness for your suffering would be many times you enjoyed. Think thrice.

Alone again?

Our family attended a BBQ party hosted by Kent Yeo at Horizon Gardens last night. We enjoyed the food which followed with the X-Box dancing session actively participated by the youngsters. Thank you for the invitation.

Margaret is leaving for a 3 days Bali vacation organised by her company at the end of this month. It's a good break for her as she is not in the best of her health. Hopefully she returns as a healthy and energetic lady. Oops! I would be a part-time bachelor once more. No, no... I am not hinting at anything. LOL.

New camera

Finally, we bought a compact point and shoot Canon S110 camera from Courts. Above is the first picture we took and the picture quality is satisfactory. We are invited to a BBQ dinner tomorrow evening and I gonna bring this camera to take and try the various modes. Keep my fingers crossed.

Damn it! I am down with a slight flu. Took the pills and felt 'stoned' all day. Occasionally, I was so high that I dare not venture out of my office. Margaret is down with migrane too. Gosh! Hope we get well soon.

Next please!

Give it the final push and it's over. I sincerely hope we can complete the project in time. Getting a little boring over here. Time to get ready and move to another new project. Prior to that, wish me luck for a big catch. I have no complain and grateful that this place give me luck, though on small winnings but often.

I am reaching my mid-fifties soon and wonder how long more can I work. Or rather how many more projects can I complete? Maybe at 60s, I should look for smaller and low rise projects. Yes, I believe in working till old. I dare not think of staying at home doing nothing and facing the television. No doubt the time will come and I hope it's not too near in  future. Que sera sera!

Celebration is over

What a blast! Winning the 4D starter twice in a week is always satisfying. No doubt it's a few thousand dollars, I couldn't ask for a better start to this Snake Year. My mother rocks! Her numbers appeared and I didn't believe what I saw. Blessed are the departed souls. Om.....

It's back to work for the lunar new year celebration is over. I had kept the new year 'God of Fortune' display together with the oranges on my table. Let us hope that it's a good, healthy and joyous year for everyone. Unless or otherwise, the celebration continues with more winning in 4D, Toto, Big sweep, etc. Huat ahh!!!!
