Bring me good news instead !

There is no instruction for us to stop or slowdown the work. So, it's business as usual and the night works continue. So far so good for everyone and hope it stays this way. Now for a little good news..... Joesph has been discharged from the SGH after hours of observation but need to return for a review on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sadly, my mother was warded in NUH this morning for a series of test and observation. Sincerely pray for her and wish her well. Arghhhh......... can somebody bring me some good news instead!!!

Valentine 2009

Happy Valentine's Day to all. Love is in the air and it should be celebrated not only by married or attached couples but the singles too. Don't forget there is parent's love, sibling's love, friends' love etc. My wish for the day.... let there be less hatred and more love in this world. May it be so.

Recently, I am receiving bad news one after another of loved ones, friends and 'not-in-good-term' people. My maternal eldest aunty passed away, Brandon's mother in ICU, etc. The latest... my father-in-law, Joesph being warded at the Singapore General Hospital. OMG! These are nightmares. May the good Lord bless us all.

What will be, will be.

Gossip and they sound real as each day passed by. I am talking about the hotest and so frequently heard topic in town i.e. company reshuffling or retrenchment of staff. Though I refused to be drawn into this sensitive issue, I believe that there are some truth in that these managements may announce the list of employees involved in this unfortunate and tragic exercise some time next week. If that is so, I praise them for choosing to execute this cruel act after the Chinese New Year period. Yes, Yuan Xiao the last day of CNY is on this coming Monday. Facing the consequences of this economic downturn is inevitable and I do not wish to speculate on myself. Like what I always say, 'what will be, will be'. Let's march on and good luck.

Happy Birthday Everyone

Huat aaahhh...... !

Today is the seventh day of the lunar new year which is also known as the 'people's day'. In the other words, it's everyone's birthday. I do not know how it originated but to the Cantonese, a dish of 7 different vegetables at lunch or dinner is compulsary. The other must-have on this day is the lo-hei or fa cai yu sheng, the tossing of vegetable salad with slices of raw fish topping. Simultaneously, shouts of 'huat ah' which means to prosper accompanied the tossing. I am sure this practice originated right here in Singapore. On this auspicious day, may I wish you 'Happy Birthday and huat aaahhh... !!!'

Margaret, my mum and me.
