Robinsons 150th Birthday Bash and S'pore Food Expo 2008

A busy day for us at the Singapore Expo. Me and Margaret arrived there at noon and headed to the Robinsons 150th Birthday Bash Fair first. I couldn't believe my luck when I picked a CKJ watch at a 50% discount. As for Margaret, she too got an Esprit watch with the 'buy one get one free offer'. Besides, we got a 75ml Cacharel Homme for only S$39. With the $2 voucher won at the Visa lucky draw counter, we used it to off set our bill.
It's damn bloody crowded at the Food Fair which was a few halls away. Well, they have almost everything there. As usual, I had my favourite Teochew City Restaurant yam paste and crab meat with fish maw soup. Poor Margaret is on medication for gastric problem. So, she got to be careful with her food. Whatever, she ordered a plate of satay (10 sticks) which I shared with her. I do not wish to write what we bought for the list is long. All I can say is we carried a few plastic bags of food home.
The only regret is that we had to miss the Adidas Fair and Popular Book Fair which were a few doors away. Reason being, we need to rush home to catch the Sichuan Earthquake Charity Show on television and would wish to donate a little.

Assisi Hospice Charity Fun Day

That's Lim Yu Beng, the most botak actor in Singapore.

It's nice to know that over S$550 000 was raised at the Assisi Hospice Fun Day @ SJI International. Me and Margaret had fun and happy to contribute at the Carnival today. This hospice caters for needy children and adults suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illness.

Happy Mother's Day 2008

We celebrated Mother's Day with a visit to my mum's new place in the afternoon. Margaret, Smily and Fyn were impressed and complimented her on the renovation. In fact, I have to thank my brothers and sister for all the time and effort they put in. Of course, we would not forget the One up there for his blessing.

The last time we had a family dinner together was quite some time ago. So, tonight's dinner with Margaret and the kids was meaningful, though a liitle extravagant. For the record, Margaret received presents from Smily and a dinner treat from Fyn yesterday. Needless to say, tonight's dinner is on me. Guess she is a happy mother.

We would like to thank Kiehl's for inviting us to participate in their promotion at Tangs today. What a day to remember!

What's the buzz.... 6 May 2008

Hi buddies! I have been busy lately. Will find some time to rock with you rascals again. Anyone game for a jamming session? Guess that will help me to relax a little.
My deepest condolences to Joyce Heng whose grandmother passed away last week. My apologies for not being able to attend the wake.
The weather is killing nowadays. The afternoon heat 'bites' the skin. Well, drink more water to prevent heat stroke.

This Sunday is Mother's Day. We will be visiting my mum at her new place. Please take note, Smily and Fyn.

Labour Day 2008

It's Labour Day, a public holiday in Singapore. I was dedicated by my mother to send the Teochew Saint at her place, back to the temple at Bedok. Together with Patrick, his wife and Roger, we set off at about 10.30 am and it's a blessing that everything went on smoothly. As she is moving into her new house on 10 May 2008, we stayed back in the afternoon to help her to do the packing. Luckily, my the other brothers and in-laws went to the new house to clean up the place. Phew, what a day!
