Good time

Our family is complete again with the return of Fyn from the States early this morning. Just had our  reunion dinner in our neighbourhood zhi char stall. As usual, my mother-in-law joined us. My father-in-law was unable to attend for he was sick. We visited him after the dinner and that cheered him up a bit.

P.S. This blog will resume after our Europe trip which is from 27 April 2013 to 10 May 2013.

We are ready

Two more days to go. In fact the concept of this trip was initated more than half a year ago. We finally booked this tour in January 2013 after many enquiries. Though the picture above shows Paris as our final destination, we have extended our trip to London for 2 more days.

Many of you may wonder why we are so extravagant this time?

Firstly, our children have completed their education and  they are moving on to the next stage of life i.e. career and getting ready to start their own family. Trust me, it's never easy bringing them up after all these years and that calls for a celebration.

Secondly, we couldn't afford a honeymoon during our wedding. It goes without saying that Margaret deserves this trip more than anybody else.

Thirdly, Euro, Swiss Franc and British Pound are at its low though not the lowest. This is the time to go. It may not be cheap to tour these places but I believe it's value for money.

Finally, I do not know whether we would be able to travel so far in 10 years time.

I just hope and pray that we will have a good time there. Gonna take a lot of pictures to share with all of you.

A good comment

I consulted the doctor twice during the past few days. On the second visit, I was given anti-biotic pills and have to be taken for 6 days continuously. That is to day I have to finish my last dosage in Italy. My cough and throat inflammation have improve tremendously except for the phlegm that keep irritating me. Phew! I am on medical leave since yesterday. Just laze around at home and enjoy the privilege. In fact a 'foreign talent' friend enlightened me with her comment on sick Singaporeans returning to work when we should be resting at home. I couldn't disagree for we are given 14 days medical leave per annum. High time to relax and take care of our health.

Burnt Air

The haze is back. The burnt air gave me a congested nose and a dry inflamed throat. My breathing was difficult. I have just recovered from my gastric reflux and this nuisense followed. Supposed to consult my family doctor yesterday and discovered the clinic does not open on Friday afternoon and evening. Given no choice but to go there this morning. The medication makes me soft and drowsy. I can fall asleep anytime now.  It's better for me to take a good rest as advised by my doctor. Last but not least, wishing myself ' A Speedy Recovery'.

Chance of a lifeime

We will be at London on the last days of our Europe trip. It's confirmed that we will stay at West London. Chances of us visiting the Emirates Stadium at North London are good. I understand that it takes about 30 minutes from our hotel to there by the Piccadilly Line. Of course, we shall alight at Arsenal station. A chance of a lifetime. Probably we'll spend the whole morning there after which I need to bring Margaret down to Oxford Street for some shopping. Gosh! We are getting more excited as the days draw nearer.

Read and asked enough

No, we are still in Singapore. The above Swiss Marche picture was taken at 313 Somerset. OMG! We are flying off next Friday. I have read enough, asked enough. Thank you to all you nice people who shared your experience and gave valuable advice. Hope we have a wonderful time in Europe too.

The not so good news is I am having gastric reflux these few days. Let's hope it goes off after taking self medication. As for my work, I am at a more relaxing stage now. With more rest, I should recover soonest possible. May it be so.

Tailoring blunder

Always expect the unexpected. I had so much confidence in my tailor for she had never failed me. So when I received my 3 long sleeve tees which she had altered, I was in for a shock. One of them became a three quarter sleeve tee and the other two, unbalance sleeves. That is to say my left sleeve is longer than my right. What a shame! She must have out-source all her order nowadays. Whatever, I gonna bring them down to rectify the blunders. @#$@#%!!!!!!

Briefing

It's confirmed. Our Europe trip briefing is on this coming Friday, 12 April 2013 @ 1900hrs. I understand that there are 35 of us in our group. Guess I have shop enough, busy buying long sleeve tees. It's early Spring, so the weather is still as cold especially in Switzerland. Let's hear what they have to say in this coming briefing.

Happy holidays

What the hell is happening? It's so hot these few nights. We have no choice but to put the air-con to full blast in our bedroom. I had experienced hot weather here but not at night. It's suppose to rain during the Qing Ming festival. Complain so much. Still, we have to live with this discomfort.

Smily and Sheryl are in Phuket Thailand for a short break. Gosh! They sure know how to enjoy life. Okay, our daughter shall return on 25 April 2013 from the States. After which, she will start looking for a job. Parents need to relax too. Our Europe vacation will be from 26 April 2013 to 10 May 2013. Happy holidays!!!

High expectation

The countdown begins. With about 3 more weeks to go and we are off to Europe. Definitely it's too short, 15 days to travel 4 countries namely Italy, Switzerland, France and England. We will be in transit in everywhere we go. For I have read a lot, I hope I won't be disappointed by my high expectation.

In France and England, we will be visiting one city each i.e. Paris and London. Guess I am going to love Italy most for its art and architecture. As for Margaret, the Paris Eiffel Tower which is her life long dream to be there. Gosh! We have to change Euro, Swiss Franc and the British Pound for this trip.

Meantime, we are waiting for the tour briefing which will be called soon. Each of us has a 26 inches luggage on standby. Of course, we are not going to be so kiasu to start packing our luggages. No doubt we have been travelling often, it's a total different feeling this time.
