Deepavali 2008

Happy Deepavali to our Hindu friends.

We are having a long weekend because of this festival of lights falls on Monday this year. For those not in the know, this festival is about the ' Hindu Gods' triumph over the evils. Lights to them symbolise life. There is an ang mo saying which has quite a similar meaning. It goes like this, 'At the end of the tunnel, there is light.'
The world is facing a financial turmoil and hopefully this auspicious occasion would put an end to it. Let there be 'LIGHT'.

BREAKING NEWS : Armani has returned and is healthy. That has relieve us a little, especially whenever we walk past his home or territory. We sensed something was missing during his absence. We adore him for he is snobbish. Always proud of himself. Whatever, Margaret is smiling again.

Armani is missing

Armani is missing. I am refering to my block's cat. Margaret is sad and blame those vendors at our recent neighbourhood pasar malam for chasing him away. That silly cat does not know or dare not come back to his territory anymore. Meowwwww............

In order to make Margaret happy, I create these 2 pictures to amuse her. One is with her idol David Beckham and the other, I put her up in a poster.
24 Oct 2008 : Oops! Margaret does not like the latter. Picture removed.

Lastly, Patrick has returned after a week in China. Time flies. Thanks for the 2 tins of traditional biscuits and a packet of red dates. I just love him to go oversea for he will come back with something for us. LOL.

Restless Sunday

It's a restless Sunday. I accompanied Margaret to the Chinese physician for her limping left knee. Mind you, that's her 5th visit. I was told Chinese traditional treatment would take some time to heal the sprain completely. Patience..... yeh patience.......
It rained in the afternoon and I had a good nap. Indeed, a very good rest for me. Like what a good friend said, ' stressed when spell backward is desserts '. I deserve desserts' break at times too. Before I sign off, a gentle reminder to myself : return your mum's call. She called in the afternoon. OMG!!!!

What's the buzz.... 14 Oct 2008

Patrick called to say that he is on a business trip to Dong Guang China starting tomorrow. Understand he would be back next Wednesday. Bon voyage.

Serene and family returned to Melbourne last week. I am sure they miss the good times here. Till then, cheers!

Examination fever.... all the best for those taking the examination of GCE 'O' and 'A' levels. As for Fyn, her 1st paper starts on 3 Nov 2008. She is stressed, very very stressed. You go girl!

There is a good chance that I will be joining Margaret in her company's trip to Pengarang on the 15 Nov 2008. I need a break as much as her. Probably it's too early to submit my leave form for approval. So kiasu.....

Neighbourhood Pasar Malam

My neighbourhood pasar malam (night market) is back. Nothing unusual except for the prices have gone up. My favourite 'muah chee' used to cost $1 for a small portion and $1.50 for a larger one. Now it's $1.50 and $2. I was surprised and felt cheated when I received my $2 'muah chee'. It was less than my last year $1 order. Suckz.............

Welcome to Singapore! Yes, Shah Rukh Khan. One of my favourite Bollywood stars. He participated in the President Star Charity Show tonight. Such a handsome and elegant yet humble guy that Margaret has begin to accept and add him to her favourite list. Shah Rukh Khan rocks!!!

Have a great weekend

TGIF! Hope everyone is having fun. As for me, I need to work on Saturdays. Okay lah, I am used to it already.... after all these years. In fact I find it weird to have off day on Saturday unless it's a public holiday. The festive season is getting closer. Starting October and November, me, Smily and Fyn are celebrating our birthdays. Sadly, Fyn is busy preparing for her GCE 'A' level. To make thing worse, her first exam paper falls on her birthday. Guess she will have to celebrate her special day in advance. Come December, we have Christmas and followed by New Year, after which uhh..... what else..... January 2009..... Chinese New Year and Margaret's birthday. Let the good times roll........

Main event of the month

Main event of the month: Smily 21st Birthday. Mama mia! Our boy is a young adult now. He is inviting his friends to our place this weekend. Guess what? I am making use of today which is a holiday to clean up the place. Margaret has commenced and is busy preparing food for the coming celebrations. Btw, I got the above photograph from his girlfriend's blog. Thanks, Sheryl. :)
