They will decide

Examination time. I can't bear to see my children struggling. Time flies and we eagerly await them to complete their 2nd year in the U. Meantime, Fyn started preparing herself for her new term at Tulane University (US). Got to fill in so many forms and a thorough medical examintion just to apply for the visa. So troublesome.

Singaporeans go to the poll on May 7 2011. It's worth following this time for we have quality opposition candidates. Ruling party PAP is going to have a tough time defending their unpopular policies like housing, security, Youth Olympics budget, etc. Interestingly, we may end up having a first gay MP. Well.... let the people decide.

The nine immortals?

Me, the 9th Immortal? Far from them, the eight Immortals are a group of legendary saints with special power each that can give life or destroy evil. A picture taken with them is supposed to bring peace and happiness. Fengshui believes bringing them home will be blessed all things good, positive and beneficial. In fact, I need them all at my office. LOL.
Talking about that, my workplace has placed a Jigong alter for protection and overall safety. Recent happenings have not been good.Though the enviroment chi is flowing and fine, the placing of our office is definitely bad. Depending on individual, the unlucky ones will suffer more. But I am confident all's well for everyone in the end. Reasons are best kept secret or it will never come true. Oops! Am I really the 9th Immortal or a feng shui Master? Your guess is as good as mine.

Need to write or else ...

I need to start writing or else everyone would give my blog a miss. Of course, it's not as convenient looking after 2 elderly along the trip. Overall, this Shandong tour is relax and easy. A good break. You won't believe Margaret and I are planning our next vacation North East China. Hopefully I have the time by then.

Our management encourages us not to overwork whereas the work itself demands our presence on Sundays and public holidays. Guess we heed their concern. For the record, my colleague is on leave for a week.

OMG! Arsenal second placing in the English Premier League has been taken over by London rival Chelsea. I saw it coming in my earlier blog and they are still dreaming of the title. So long as they stay within the top four at the end of the season and that itself is a good achievement. Five more matches to go......

We are back

It's goodbye to Shandong and hello Singapore again. Despite our frequent China hoildays, there are still quite a number of places we have not visited. Each time, we feel refreshed. Though our Mandarin is far from perfection, there's no communication breakdown.

We have nothing to shout about for this trip. Confucious isn't that confusing after all. The first few days were cold with the temperature went down to as low as 6 degrees C. Gosh! We are talking about of Spring.

The overall 8 days' programmes were relaxing with daily generous meals. We cannot complain on the 4 and 5 stars hotel accomondations. The only regret is that we should have extended another 2 days to go to Henan Justice Pao Court and Shaolin Temple. Well, there is always another day.

Shandong vacation

Confirm? Double confirm...... Me and Margaret will be in Shandong China from 6 April 2011 to 13 April 2011. During this period, we are still contactable on our mobile for emergency use only. I will take a good break from everything including this blog.

It was bloody 'siong' last year with day in day out.... workplace, home, workplace, home. The last that I went for a vacation was in October 2009. Guess Margaret is happy that I have time for her this time round. We are visiting Confucius birthplace Qufu and hopefully by the time we return we won't be so confused. Just kidding. We have high respect for this wise sage and hope to receive his blessing after visiting his temple and mansion.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it difficult. - Confucius

Ready to go

On the way...... yes, we have started packing and ready to go. Weather in Shandong China is from 7 to 19 degrees which we have to carry both 'thick and thin' clothings. For this trip, my mother-in-law and Margaret's cousin will be joining us. But not our children as it's their examination period. Anyway, they are not interested in China either.

Way to go. They are simply not good enough to be worthy champions. Excuses after excuses. Sad that the opportunites were there and they failed seize them. As an Arsenal fan, it's rather frustrating to see Man U pulling away despite their recent hiccups. A consolation is that they are lying second on the table. Hope it remains this way when the season ends in August.
