Reunited ( with original BC )

OMG! I found my original birth certificate while packing Margaret's drawer. It was with our 2009 tour booking receipt and appeal letter. For the benefit of those not in the know, we canceled our tour when she was admitted to NUH. My birth certificate was attached to her medical certificate and the appeal letter to prove that I was her son. It was unsuccessful and we forfeited our S$500 deposit. Till today, we have no regret for she passed away a few months later that year.

Well, it's good to see my late parent's name in the certificate. Reunited with my original birth certificate.

Table soccer or dining chairs?

That's Patrick and wife enjoying a table soccer game while we shopped for our dining chairs. It's never easy to find the right chairs for our granite table. On rare occasions when the right chair came along, the price sucks. Imagine getting 4 chairs at S$1 000. Forget it. Hello, stop your game and let's move on.

Garden Festival 2012

We visited the Singapore Garden Festival 2012 at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Sunday 8 July 2012. Fyn and Devin Kelly joined us. I would not write too much into it and you can view the 31 photographs posted on my Facebook.

An exhibition not to be missed for those who are into flowers and gardening. It's definitely worth paying and the time spent. It took me and Margaret about 3 hours to complete admiring the exhibits.

Lah, lei, hor

Finally, he is right here in Singapore. Yeah, Fyn's American friend Devin Kelly arrived on 3 July 2012 Tuesday. My dear daughter is his tour guide and taking care of him. I had a good chat with him last evening and will be bringing him to Wat Palelai @ Bedok Simpang tomorrow. Understand that he is more interested in all things local than going to those tourist attractions. Guess the impression he has over here is 'Singapore, an island of shopping centres'.
Gosh! This ang-mo has an Oriental mentality. He wishes to visit Buddhist and Toaist temples and learns Chinese kung fu. Aiyoh! I am no expert in both. Another interesting I notice is..... he is picking up Singlish hor. In no time, he will be using the Singlish grammer i.e. lah, lei, hor, etc.

July morning

Here we are..... on a July morning. Nothing much to look out for unless we are in United States where they are celebrating their Independence Day on 4th of July. 'In my mind, in my heart and in my soul...' July Morning, a song by Uriah Heep is one of my favourites. Listening to it brings me back to the 70s with memories of my parents, brothers and sister living in a small, crammed flat at Queenstown. As music was my first love, my guitar was my girlfriend. I would bring her along wherever I went. Those were the days.

Back to the present, me and Margaret have a lunch appointment with Patrick & wife together with Roger at noon today. Will update the blog this evening. Meantime, enjoy your beautiful Sunday and have fun.
