Street music

Once in a while, a little temporary change in lifestyle is necessary. Life is so bored and monotonous. Many times so predictable. Wake up, go to work, return home, sleep.

This evening, I did something exceptional. I wished to be alone and was all by myself along the buzzing Orchard Road. I sat on a bench outside Wisma Atria facing a mature couple busking their music and singing. They have been there for years and I was looking forward to enjoy and entertain by them.

I stayed for about an hour and their songs brought me back to the 70s and 80s. Sister golden hair, Fernando, How can I tell her, Mississippi, Nobody's child, Another woman in love, etc. OMG! Songs from my rock and roll days. For a moment, I was in a world of my own though the place was full of people.

It was past 8pm and they took a break. I donated a few dollars and took a train home. Thank you for the music.

That extra

I dare not ask for more. I consider myself blessed with a good family and a job in hand. So long as me and family members are healthy, I am thankful. We are waiting for Fyn to graduate. Then, our responsibilty as parents are complete.

Looking back at our early marriage days, life was hard and tough but we were just as happy. My mother would be the first to worry for us. Gosh! I wonder how me and my wife struggled all these years. For that extra luck from the Fortune Buddha, it's fated. Namo.......

To our son

Well done and congratulation! We are proud of you. I am sure your late paternal grandparents are smiling from above. A long journey not only for you but for us too, bringing you up and supporting you all these years. Our responsiblities stop here, now that you have graduated. Go build a successful career with all our blessings.

In the midst of your busy and hectic life, do not neglect your friends and loved ones. Also remember that your learning does not end here. It's a life long process. Me and your mom can only wish you luck and success in everything you do.

Once again, cheers!

4th time

Cookin' NANTA is returning to Singapore on 25 - 30 September 2012 at Sands Theater @ Marina Bay Sands. We watched this comic musical non-verbal performance in Bangkok Thailand April this year. A fantastic show not to be missed. I understand they are back for the 4th time here. Check it out!

Good Fortune Buddha goes to USA

It's farewell to Devin Kelly. He has returned to US after a 6 weeks staycation here. We gave him a farewell party at The Dining Room @ Sheraton Towers last night. I am sure everyone had a memorable evening with the sumptuous buffet and the luxurious ambiance.

We couldn't sent him off today as it's a working day. He left us a card expressing his gratitude with a box of chocolate and a packet of pop-corn. You wouldn't believe we bought a good fortune Buddha which his mother wished for to bring home. It's small one which weigh about a kilogram. Besides, he is bringing back local products like tiger balm, TCM medicated plaster, laksa paste, cuttle fish and many others.

Devin, have a safe journey home. Bon voyage!!!

Changes

Though I feel I'm growing older, and the songs that I've sung..... Soldier of Fortune by Deep Purple. These sentences reflex how we are feeling today. The above picture was taken back in 1999. In no time, we will be mature uncle and aunty. That's not our concern but more importantly.... to stay healthy and be happy. I am going through changes, sang Ozzy Osbourne.

Buzzing August

Sorry, I don't feel proud. An Olympic medal by a foreign talent Singaporean is never easy to accept. Some netizens are calling her Chinaporean. Gosh! She is not to be blame. In fact, I sympathise with her. All these years of effort and leaving the country of birth to persue her passion. Hope she treasure and make good use of the reward of S $200 000. Yes, she deserves it. No hard feeling. Congrats and well wishes.

Ah-ha! We have 2 public holidays this month namely Singapore National Day and Hari Raya Puasa. OMG! It's buzzing August 2012. Guess what? The Hungry Ghost Festival is in this month too. And not forget the new season EPL 2012/2013. Go Arsenal go!!!!!
