Faulty phone

Most of my friends are on leave these few days cos' Friday May 1 is a public holiday. For those having a vacation overseas, Happy Holidays! My works slow down a little. I am more relax and less hectic which suits me well. No more overseas vacation till Margaret's knee surgery and recovery.
My handphone is faulty and my contract with M1 expires on 14 Oct 2009. I called them the other day and was told that I could renew it on 13 Jun 2009. That is to say that I could trade-in my handphone and buy a new one by then. But one and a half month is a long time and it's not worth to service it either. What to do? Bear with it lah. Hello hello........ I cannot hear you........... phone faulty lah..............

Surgery postponed

What a joke! Margaret's knee surgery has been postponed to 10 June 2009 by the hospital. Reason : swine flu epidemic. In fact, I was having this thought last night. Guess she has to bear with the pain for another month or so. Better to be safe than sorry.

Perfume fair

I went shopping during my lunchtime to kill my loneliness. I did get a good deal at the perfume fair at SAFRA Toa Payoh on Friday. For S$77 I got a Lanvin 100ml perfume and 150ml body shampoo, Mont Blanc 50ml perfume and a deodorant stick. The bazaar ends this evening at 8pm. Check it out!

Margaret will be going for a minor knee surgery at the General Hospital this Wednesday 29 April 2009. Pray that the surgery is a successful one. Well, I am confident that she will be running around Orchard Road this coming Great Singapore Sale.

Let's move on

Thank you to all our relatives, friends and colleagues for coming over to pay their last respect to our late mother. For those who couldn't make it, we say 'thank you too'. We appreciate all your prayers, care and concern.
I am humbled by the few 'not-in-talking term' friends who gave my late mother the highest respect by contributing money. Please accept my bow as a respect to you in return. Thank you for putting the boxing match on hold. We shall resume after my mourning period. I hope not. Haha..
For I was sad and frustrated, I wasn't in my right frame of mine. Should anyone be offended by my words and action, I apologise. Let's move on.

Too many of you

I visited my late mother almost every lunchtime during her 5-week hospice stay. No doubt I was tired and exhausted, the fear of her waiting for me kept me going. I would massage her hands followed by chanting in silence. I am sure she knew I was desperately seeking divine intervention to relieve her pain and suffering. Though her memory deteriorated but towards her last days she was able to acknowledge and called my name.To those whom she couldn't recall, she had indirectly apologised by saying " I am unable to remember all your names ". Now that she is in heaven and I am going back to work tomorrow, guess I am going to miss her during my lunchbreak. Gosh, I can't imagine.

There are lots of bad happening in the past few days. Misbehavior, jealousy, evilish, greed, arrogant. Sad but I believe in divine retribution. You know who you are. Good luck!

In memory of my mom

A few months back, my mother asked me if it's possible to have a Buddhist wake for the first few days followed by a Christain wake. I have never come across one in that manner and told her it's not possible. Her love for my sister was so great that in death, she would try to fulfil my sisiter's wish. In the end, she wished for a similar one as my late father - the Buddhist way.

Today at her wake, the 2 wreaths in front of her were presented by a Buddhist Association where my eldest brother is a member and the other by my sister's church. I was like...hey mom, are you showing me the way that you long desired. Whatever, we shouldn't be bothering her anymore.
We sincerely love you deeply. Rest in peace.

Okay, her favourite son is always the youngest one i.e. Patrick Ng. She would pampered him in whichever way and in return...... he would go all out to please her as well. Me and him just finished our second night duty at the wake last night. Though I would make a lot of noise that he slept thru the night but in my heart I am happy that he slept well. I am always willing to shoulder the duty alone and make sure the he sleeps well. Guess that's what you called
'Brotherly Love'. What can I do? He is my one and only younger brother. ( They are many who said that I look younger than him. LOL )

This one for you, mom.

Crazy weather

Hey Mr Weatherman, please tell us what is happening! One minute it's burning hot and the next, thunderstorm with flash-flood. Iceberg at the North Pole is breaking up due to climate change. So whatever you do, think twice. Save the environment. Save the earth.

My mother used to chant Om Mani Padme Hum and prayed to Kuan Yin Buddhisattva, commonly known as the Goddess of Mercy. Now that she is bedridden, I have continued her chanting and prayers in silence whenever I visit her. I am sure it could relieve her pain, discomfort and suffering. Om Mani Padme Hum, Om Mani Padme Hum, Om Mani Padme Hum.....

Happy Easter 2009

Happy Easter to our Christain friends.

Smily just came home and told me that he visited my mother at the hospice this morning. I was like .... huh, visiting her early in the morning? I am happy and proud that he takes the initiative to visit her on his own whenever he can. Fyn would accompany Margaret to see her on a regular basis too. My children rocks!

The big four won in the EPL matches this weekend. Arsene Wenger put a weakened team to play Wigan and nearly got thrashed in the first half. In the last 20 minutes, Adebayor and Van Persie were thrown in. At last, Arsenal played to their true colours and triumphed with a 4-1 win.

Francis Ng collected his new car 3 days ago. Congrats!!! He gave me a lift at noon yesterday. Btw, I bought the car numbers for this weekend only. Yesterday was gone and my only hope is in this evening. Good luck to myself. : )

Good Friday 2009

Why is Good Friday referred to as 'good'? I was from a mission school in my primary education years and if I can remember, Jesus died for sins to bring us to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit. Halleluyah!

It's a holiday break for us working class people. The previous public holiday was Chinese New Year in January 2009. Long time man! Gonna do some cleaning at home and visit my mother in the afternoon. Where are my children? M.I.A.!!!

Qing Ming 2009

The traditional Qingming festival returns and it's time to tend to the graves of the departed ones. It is also a thanksgiving festival for the blessings showered on us by our ancestors for the past year. As usual, me, Margaret and Fyn went to pray to my late father, paternal grandparents and my cousin with bags of paper money, clothings, shoes, etc. Knowing that my late father loved to travel, we got him a passport and air-tickets together with a paper 'Kappa' shirt and pants. Haha.. Jokes aside, we have not forgotten our late maternal grandfather. He, too, should recieve a packet of gifts through him.

Today is also Palm Sunday. It is an occasion for reflecting on the final week of Jesus' life. It is a time for Christains to prepare their hearts for the agony of his Passion and the joy of his resurrection.

Happy Birthday Anna!

The weekend is here again. Time now is 8 minutes to 9.00pm Saturday 4 April 2009. I am still in my office. Guess I have to struggle for the next few months and after that it's going to be more relaxing. Yesterday was Clement's birthday and I did sent him birthday wishes through sms. Hopefully his mobile number remains the same. Okay, Happy Birthday to Anna, my mother-in-law, whose birthday falls on today. I believe they are celebrating with a good dinner right now. Good health and may she be happy always! Cheers!
