One way or another

OMG! No doubt Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Man U last night, I couldn't believe my luck that I make some money out of it. On the match itself, it was unfortunate that the goalkeeper gave away a penalty kick and a defender headed-in an own goal. Very frustrating and I understand why Arsene Wenger did a silly act by kicking the water bottle. For that, he got sent off too. Wah lau!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................................... Man U don't deserve to win.............................................
I love to hate placing bets on Arsenal matches at Singapore Pools outlet. I always got it wrong when indicating the type of bet. Instead of buying Arsenal to win at full-time, I ended with Arsenal to win at half time and the other ticket, Arsenal given 1.5 goals. Gosh! I won both. Trust me, it's just a little luck from the celebration of this 7th Lunar Month. Big money, I want big money....... HUAT AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No dancing shoes...

Glitter Graphics

How I wish...... here I am.......... it's Saturday and I gonna work till darkness. Well, that's the nature of my job. No Saturday Night Fever and no dancing shoes except safety boots. LOL. Glad that I received courtesy calls and sms from good friends recently. Great for they are well. Promise to arrange gatherings should I have the time.
Poor Margaret. She is sick again with throat infection and bad cough. Better get well soon. We will be leaving for Guangxi on 5 Sept 2009 for a 8 days vacation. Will take a lot of pictures and post them here.

Open your mouth or else...

I have been wearing my sunglass at work and received compliments on it. A designer chic eye-wear on a matured face. Guess it don't blends well but who cares. My right eye is still sore. Blame it on the clinic staff who told me to apply the eye lotion every 4 hourly. I applied a drop each time obediently for the past 2 days until I sense something was wrong. No doubt the pain and swelling were gone but it's still so red and dry.
I dropped by the clinic this evening and asked the staff how many drops must I apply each time. To my surprise, I was told 2 drops. OMG! Why didn't she direct me the right dosage in the first instance. The fear of overdose prevent me from dripping another drop.
A lesson learnt. A close mouth catches no fly. Be a typical kiasu Singaporean. Always ask lah. Not only that, must ask and ask and ask.... Remember this hor......

Eye infection

I am on medical leave due to an eye infection. I understand that lack of sleep and stress could lead to this condition. You would not believe that my doctor used a needle to pock my lower eyelid to remove the pus and release the pain. Though fearful but I accept the treatment anyway. If not, the pus will build-up and I need to return to remove it in the next few days. Okay, I am given antibiotics eye-drops to stabilize it.
It is with regrets that I have to miss an important farewell lunch party at my workplace. Whatever, may I wish JPG ' Good Health Always!' Au revoir.

Happy Vinayagar Chathuthi 2009

Happy Vinayagar Chathuthi to our Hindu friends.

Fulfilled what I wanted to do today i.e. to pay homage to my late parents and ancestors. Surprisingly. me and Margaret attended a high tea session at Mouth Restaurant SAFRA Toa Payoh in the afternoon. It must be at least more than a year since the last time we had one. What else do we have for this weekend? Yes.... Arsenal beat Portsmouth 4-1 at the Emirate Stadium. For the record, my Muslim friends started their fasting obligation. Keep it up!

Zhong Yuan Jie 2009

Here we are....... the 1st day of the Lunar Seventh Month where Zhong Yuan Jie or the Hungry Ghost festival is celebrated. Are you afraid of the dark? Be very afraid for they are going to get you.........
Jokes aside. There is nothing to be scared of. This is the month where these wondering souls which are unable to be reincarnated return to Earth for a holiday. I am comfortable to pray for their peace and comfort. This festival also allow us to pay homage to our ancestors for their blessing.
There was a praying session in my company this evening. I joined them briefly and returned to work after that. Btw, I saw the lucky number which my Manager asked for. Good luck everyone!

A crazy fan

I placed a $5 bet on Arsenal to win by at least 2 goals in this match. Must be crazy, very crazy. It's an away game but .......... haha............... follow my intuition. You can never tell until the final whistle. Keep my finger crossed and hopefully I can go and collect my reward from the Singapore Pools tomorrow. Go Arsenal Go!!!!!!

Vacation almost firmed

It's almost confirmed that we are going to Guangxi for a short break on the 1st week of September. We have to leave Smily and Fyn behind for they have just started their new semester. Anyway, they are tired of us going back to China so often.
China is such a big country. Though it's going to be our 4th trip there, we have yet to visit a lot of places like Chengdu, Leshan, Mount Er-mei, Harbin, Shengyang, Henan, just to name a few.
Moreover, it's much cheaper as compared to having a vacation in Cebu and Hanoi.
We do not know much about Guangxi except that there are lots of breathtaking landscape. We should be visiting Detian Waterfall the second largest trans-national waterfall in the world, second only to the Niagara falls in the US.
Phew! We are all excited and looking forward to this trip. China rocks!!!!

Sisters-in-laws unwell

I recieved a call from my sister last night and understand that my eldest sister-in-law Jeanette was hospitalised twice recently due to a viral infection. The first instance for 11 days and the recent, 2 days. This is serious.
Why didn't Thomas inform the family members? The sad truth is ......... my family members will only share their happiness with others and keep the sufferings to themselves. Believe me, that's in our genes. The other ugly side of the beautiful us is that we hardly reveal our inner feelings. Though most of the time we meant well, we prefer to keep it to ourself. Guess that's our family culture.
For she is a Christain, I pray to the good Lord to shower his blessing on her. Me and family members wish her 'a speedy recovery and get well soon'. Looking forward to our next 'or nee' lunch gathering. Cheers!

P.S. We have not forgotten you. Another sister-in-law from Margaret's side had a suceessful surgery recently. May we extend our sincere best wishes for a speedy recovery and hope 'you get better each day'. Take care!

Fabulous! Arsenal kick off the EPL season with a 6-1 win at Goodison Park Everton last night. Couldn't ask for more and hope that they maintain their consistency. Let the good times roll........

Some recent photos... 14 Aug 2009

That's Fyn with her new hairdo and image. Isn't she beautiful?

Margaret and Fyn viewing the photographs taken. What puzzles me is the guy besides Margaret. He is so small and tiny. Isn't it weird? Don't ask me how I took this photograph.

Classical dancers from India celebrating our National Day at our neighbourhood. Rock on!!!

Celebration continues

The celebration continues and it's a Public Holiday here. Like the rest of the Singaporeans, we gonna laze away after a hectic day running about in Johore Bahru yesterday. Me and Fyn had our hair trimmed by a new hair-stylist Shawn at Tebrau City. Both of us had a new look when we left the salon. Shop, shop, shop! Shop till you drop. I am referring to the basic stuff. As for branded goods, Singapore is still the in-place with the latest and updated trend and fashion. Yes, we enjoyed dining at the restaurants there for the food is good and it's value for money. Sizzling hot stone salmon, cod fish bento set, Portuguese grille chicken and many others. Oops! my stomach is calling....... Last but not least, the exchange rate is good. RM $2.43 for S $1. Yo... yo... check it out!!!

National Day 2009

Wishing Singaporeans ' A Happy 44th National Day with a peaceful and properous year ahead '. Three birthday wishes for the nation. Firstly, may everyone stay healthy. Pray that the H1N1 virus would go away and all those infected would recover. Next, the economy recovers and no more retrenchment. Those affected and jobless would get a job soonest possible. Finally, may the people of Singapore continue to live harmoniously.

Don't forget the National Day Parade and fireworks this evening. As for us, we are heading to Johore Bahru for a short break and return to join in the celebration this evening.

Stand Up for Singapore and Majullah Singapura!!!! Let's rawk Singapore.....................

Estate painting

A new coat of paint for my Block. We were given 3 main theme colours to choose from and the residents voted for the above. Good foresight for it looks good and beautiful especially with the night lightings. This is the the second time a new coat of paint has been given to our estate since moving here in 1996. Back then, both Smily and Fyn were young and excited having a staircase inside this maisonette unit. Time flies and me and Margaret are struggling to clean and maintain the house each week. The consolation is that we are living in a luxurious 4.2m x 4.2m Master Bedroom. In all honesty, I can't think of a better house and environment other than this.

Starting campus' life

Smily and Fyn start their campus life this month. We couldn't believe that our boy started preparing to return to class since last week. He bought stationery, packed his wardrobe and bedroom in preparation for his new term. Who is not excited after leaving school for two and a half years? As for our girl, she is always cool. She refuses to display her excitement.
Both of them got their lap-top with the latest specifications which cost us a small fortune. Mind you, it's x2. They got an increment in their monthly allowance too. I hope they appreciate what we are giving and put in all their effort and succeed.

Summer 2009, huh?

Hot hot hot!!!! It's burning hot. For those working outdoor, please drink a lot of water to prevent heat stroke. Avoid tanning under the afternoon Sun too for it's not healthy for the skin. Eat a lot of fruits to build a strong immune system to fight against H1N1. Understand it's reaching its peak these 2 weeks. Whatever.... stay healthy and be happy.

My brothers are calling for a meeting tomorrow at 2pm. Hopefully there's no major issue. I am very tired. In fact, I just reached home after work. Yes, I know it's a Saturday night. To me, work come first. Will bring Margaret for an oversea vacation but where???? I want a relaxing holiday with lots of sightseeing. Do not ask us to climb mountain and tunnel through caves. Okay, no diving too. Any suggestion???
