Roger is ready...

OMG! He is ready for Chinese New Year 2015. Yes, me and Margaret brought Roger out for his annual shopping this afternoon. First, we got him his long sleeves shirts and hankerchiefs at Mark & Spencer Paragon. After that, we strolled down to the new Robinson Heeren for his pair of shoes, pants and other personal wear. The trip ended with a Japanese dinner at Ngee Ann City. Needless to say, my second brother went home happily. He ain't heavy, he is my brother....

Festive season blues

The days are getting shorter. Maybe I am just too busy everyday that by the time I reach home, it's bed time. Yeah, this project demands a lot of my time and attention. Hopefully, the top management appreciates my utmost effort. Whatever, I desperately need a break every three months.

December 2014. Couldn't believe Christmas is around the corner again. A week after, its New Year 2015. Guess I can hardly celebrate for we are rushing our project. Luckily CNY 2015 is in February. At least there is a breather which allow us to do all the necessary things to welcome our Brother Goat.

Blogging again

My laptop has returned to its creator. We bought an IT tablet from Sitex Fair yesterday. And here I am, blogging again.

Well, just went to Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar last month. It was simply awesome. Love the culture, the arts and the history. Everything went of smoothly. The people were friendly and the place was safe. Yeah, not as scary as it portrays.

Where to for next year? US California or Eastern Europe? Hmm... let's enjoy the coming festive season first. Will decide after Chinese New Year 2015. Cheers!

No, I am not selling mooncake but just snapped a photo of myself at my friend's stall. If only, I am a rich man by now. High profit margin.

Enough of buying

Shopping, shopping, shopping! Though I did not have much time for it, but I was lucky to be able to grab what I need. First, it's my pair of New Balance shoes. Being broad foot, I need a 2E width. Guess what? The pair I am wearing now is worn by US President Obama too. Painfully, I paid S$260 for it.

After recontracting my phone service with M1 for another 2 years, I replaced my Samsung S3 handphone with a Samsung S5. As I am on a lower service data plan, I have to fork out S$580 for the new handset. I trade in my S3 for S$200 and was given another S$50 off for loyalty. Gosh! I couldn't believe my ears when the cashier told me that I could offset a further of about S$200 rebate from my credit card. So, in total I paid less than half of S$580. Lucky me.

What else did I buy since last month? Yes, a pair of spectacles with progressive lens, an AJ working bag and AX wallet. Definitely a thousand over dollars on all these. The Great Singapore Sales and whatever sales are over for me. Time to work harder...

Celebrations

Selamat Hari Raya Adilfitri to our Muslim friends.

A public holiday has finally arrived. Unfortunately, I was having gastric reflux yesterday. Hopefully I am fine today as I do not wish to waste a holiday lying in bed.

The King of Hades declared the Hungry Ghost Festival 'Opened' last evening with the followers praying and burning paper money as offering. I am sure there will be a big celebration at my workplace as well. Blessed are the wondering souls.

Not deterred

It does not sound good with all the fatal plane accidents in the recent days. Yes, three in a row within a week. Let us pray for more safe journeys/travels for all. But by all this we are not deterred and intend to travel more often. There are just too many places for us to visit before we grow old. Life goes on...

Celebrations await

A public holiday is near i.e. Hari Raya Puasa this coming Monday. At the same time, it's the hottest period of the year. Yes, I pray that there are no burning hot spots in Indonesia. Or else.... face mask on. The return of the Haze will cheese everyone off.

Besides the Hari Raya festival, it is also the Hungry Ghost Festival starting this Sunday. Are you afraid of the dark? The joke is everyone is afraid of brightness in Singapore especially when the utility bill arrives. So, darkness is not so scary after all.

Well, the city will be brighten up for the coming National Day celebration on 9 August 2014. Majulah Singapura!

The day Brazil weep

It's Fifa World Cup 2014. What a shame! Brazil was thrashed by Germany 7-1 in the semi-final last night. I supported Germany from young but this time round I am on the Brazilian side as they are the host nation. Yeah, they were not good enough and lost to a better team. Let's see if they can recover in the 3rd/4th placing match.

My project team is getting bigger with another staff joining us probably this month. There are seven of us at the present moment. Still, I am worried that the management will make a lot of noise upon my applying of 2 weeks leave in October this year. Yeah, another Europe trip awaits. Hopefully everything will be smooth from now. Viva Espana and Alo Portugal!

I am back!

Hello everyone, I am back. So silly of me not making use of my handphone for blogging since my laptop is down. Wasted so many months.

Okay, everyone of us is doing fine. Me, my wife and children are holding on to a job and doing our best. We are all drained and tired after a hard day's work. For me and Margaret, the only form of relaxation is travelling. In fact, we just came back from Macau, Zhuhai and Zhongshan.

Expect more blogs in the coming days. Nice to be back.

Cheers!

Localise

Devin returned to the States after a 2-months vacation here. We know how Fyn's feel as Margaret told me that she sought of missing him too. Gosh! This ang-mo eat laksa, satay, BBQ stingray, dry mee hoon kuay, etc. He understand a bit of Singlish. Haha... quite localise already.

I do not interfere with my children's love affair. For good or bad they have to sought out themselves.  So long as they sincerely love each other, rich or poor is my least concern. They must be prepared to work hard, if not harder to build a family. The initial stage of marriage is never easy. Both me and Margaret were beautifully poor. But we kept going, caring not what others see us. Being happy and contented have sustain us throughout the years.

Uploading problem

I have been trying to upload images to this blog for the past week but without success. Wonder if it's my laptop problem or the website. Should the problem persist, I may have to abandon this blog. Will keep all of you posted.

A day with my brothers

What a day! A thanksgiving session praying to my parents for their blessings in 2013 or rather in the Year of the Snake. Besides me and Margaret, we invited Patrick and wife along. We also bought incense paper on our children's behalf to offer to their paternal grandparents. Yes, I am sure my parents were happy receiving them. Btw, our children has returned us the money.

After the praying session, we went down to fetch Roger for lunch at Queenstown. I jokingly told him that lunch was on him today and he took it seriously. He started to count the money in his wallet and looked very worried. Not to stress him further, I told him that the meal was on me. He sighed a relief and enjoyed his meal wholeheartedly. Guess I would not joke with him in future.

Me and Margaret visited Thomas in the evening bringing with us 2 packets of fish maw which my sister-in-law ordered. It's not easy to understand or catch what my eldest brother was saying as his speech was not clear and soft. Sad to say, he is suffering from  Alzheimer's disease. Whatever, he is always happy to see us visiting him.

Back to work

The party is over. All of us are back to work. Saturday as usual will be a full day for me. If only I can finish my work before 6pm tomorrow, I would bring Margaret to our long awaited claypot frog porridge dinner. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Time for spring cleaning and preparing goodies for the coming Lunar New Year. No matter what, a clean and tidy home brings good luck to the occupants. I understand that my Chinese Zodiac is alright in the Year of the Horse 2014. All I need is to maintain my good health and many good things will come naturally. I sincerely hope so.

Awesome 2014?

Cheers to a New Year! A new beginning with new hopes... Year 2013 had been kind and good to me and my family. We move into 2014 with lots of confidence that it would be another good year ahead. Like what Fyn wrote, ' 2014! Well, I already know you're gonna be awesome!'

I expect my children to be more stable and successful in their career. As for me and my wife, we pray for good health so as to cope with our demanding jobs. Will there be a family outing overseas this year? I do not know. Most probably me and Margaret will go for a trip nearby and another LA/LV. We need to clear our annual leave or it will be forfeited. We may change our destination depending on when we take our leave.

For we do not live a sophisticated life, 2014 Horse Year should be smooth and easy for us. Yeah, no big dreams. Three simple meals, smile often, laugh a lot and we consider ourselves blessed. Money will look for you when you are at your happiest moment. Good luck.
