Home comfort

My father-in-law has been discharged from SGH and enjoying the comfort at home. It's nice to see him smiling again. He kept chatting non-stop and that's a good sign he is back to his normal self. No more vexing and frowning. You know what? This rock steady old man is flying to Taiwan in the next few months to support his students in a dancing competition. Keep rocking but don't forget to take your medicine regularly.

Lighter head, cold ears

Visited my father-in-law at the SGH this evening. Luckily, he managed to reach there in time and the setback or side effect is minimal. The last time he got a stroke was about a year ago. Of course any sick man would be vexed. He has to learn to accept the condition he is in. Finally I had my long awaited haircut. My head is lighter and I could feel the air-con blowing my ears. So cooling. Thank goodness, at least my face don't look so fat this time round. A new look signals a new beginning with the hope of everything I do will be smooth sailing from now on. Om mani padme hum. The Japanese Nuclear crisis is giving us problem too. Huh? You must be wondering what the heck has it to do with me. Singapore is about 5000 kilometre away. Let me explain. Me and Margaret are leaving for Shandong next week and we understand the radiation has reached there. Pray that the situation does not worsen or my well deserved holidays would go down to the drain.

Hair affair

What can I do? There is always something that pop up at the last minute to keep me away from the salon. Had a wonderful Sunday with my makan kakis. By the time I reached home, it was late evening. Thought I took a rest before I visit my hair dresser. But when I woke up.......it's the next morning. Gosh! I had to rush to work.

So, I planned to go down this evening. Unfortunately, Margaret called in the afternoon informing me of father-in-law been warded at the General Hospital. I rushed to the hospital after work and she message that I cannot see him while waiting for a bed. I was advised to go home and rest instead. Latest I heard from my son who went over to my mother-in-law place was 'He is okay'. May the good Lord bless him.

Still on my hair, it's getting messy, untidy and out of shape. I am sure to have it short. Bet I gonna miss the wind blowing my hair on a cloudy day.

Class of '79 Reunion 2011

Oh what a night! No doubt the turnout was much smaller than last year, it was by no means any less fun. May I quote what Benny had written in his email, ' There were plenty of conversations, uncountable jokes, endless laughters and lovely recollections of the good ol' days. We all had lots of fun, so much that we forgotten to play games that were so kindly prepared by our ever so charming, Rosna.'

Needless to say, we do miss those who were absent. A round of applause to our host Ching Yin and family, Rosna & committee members and last but not least to all who came and contributed to this memorable evening. Thank you and God bless.

Cruel world

Still I am sad. Heads are starting to roll starting with the managers. Surely they can't be responsible for something beyond their control. But then, this is a cruel world. Who will be next? We won't know. Maybe the head of department. I hope not.
Sincerely believe these people are destine to achieve something big in life. Definitely they will bounce back and return stronger. You will never know something good will come out of this mess. May the Almighty above bless them all.

Reel or Real World?

No one is happy when things ain't going smoothly. You will never know who the good guys are, not until the end of the show. Or there isn't any. OMG! Just like the ancient swordfighting Chinese dramas. Your best friend is your worst enemy. Those who always say that they are victimised are the schemer. And you have the 'Perfect Gentleman' abusing his authority. How about the one who 'blow cow' (boast) at every opportunity. Do these people really exist in our living circle? It keeps me wondering.

Do I have a blog?

For once, I am not going to upload an image in this blog. Something was very wrong with me for the past week. I had forgotten my blog here. In fact we had two 'should not have happened' accidents at our workplace. The happy-go-lucky atmosphere in our team was gone. At the same time we realised that we should not work more than necessary.
Things aint smooth at home too. Margaret is down with a sore throat. I had to advise Fyn to let go of the thought of participating in her June Korean trip as she needs a substantial sum of money for her university exchange in New Orleans (US) later in the year.
Well, I am looking forward to the Class 0f 79 Reunion 2011 this coming Saturday. Come this Sunday, I will have my hair cut short. Spring 2011 with a new look. Hopefully with good luck as well.

A sad week

The nightmare continues in Japan. Earthquake, tsunami and the nuclear plant catastrophe. Good Lord, have mercy. I understand from the morning news that things are getting better and the situation over there should be stable soon. Let's hope and continue our prayer.
A sad week for us at the workplace. A fatal accident occured with unfavorable consequence. No doubt all of us are down but we need to pick up and move on. Cest la vie.

Japan natural disaster

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the massive Japan earthquake and tsunami victims. With dark days ahead, we are confident that they can overcome this diffcult period. OMG! One nuclear plant had exploded with another one awaits. The consequences is unthinkable. Scary.

IT Fair

The IT Fair is back and my friends are creating a hoo-ha. Smiling faces everywhere after office hour with most of them rushing down to Suntec City to join in the crowd. I confess I am not a high tech warrior. So what's there to see? Hmm........ Margaret need a ventilator holder for her laptop whereas I need 'a portable solar battery charger' for my handphone. Hope I got the right words on the things we wanted. Pai seh. So sua ku. Anyway, I asked my friend to help me to get them. To all you guys out there, enjoy your shopping at the fair.

31 boring days

A lousy month in March. Nothing much to look forward to. Still have the post CNY blues. 31 days without a public holiday in it. Siong. If only Tua Pek Kong birthday is declared a national holiday. Sigh.....
I wonder how the Class of 79 Reunion is coming up. It's supposed to be on 26 March 2011. Sad that I couldn't be in the organising committee. My work is taking too much of my energy and time. Well, I am confident the party will rock at the end of the day.

Golden rabbit

Collected my new spectacles which is much lighter than the existing one. I can only know how good the transition lens are when I go under the Sun tomorrow. Do I look good on it? Okay lah. Do not expect much from a matured man. Hehe...
My immediate superior offered this decorative golden rabbit to me and my colleague for this zodiac animal does not spell good for him this year. My colleague declined his offer while I reluctantly accepted and placed it on my desk. On second thought, it may bring me the best of everything as Rabbit is the most compatible animal to my zodiac sign. Whatever, I am sure it will do me no harm. My number one priority is good health. Should I receive good wealth, I would not hestiate to let all of you know. Wait for my good news........

Ah Neh coming back

My former working buddy Raj will be back from Mumbai India on 10 March 2011 for a 5-days vacation. I understand he misses his family very much. Tell me whoever goes overseas to work doesn't? I respect and admire him for his guts and sacrifice in pursuing his dream and future. A brilliant and wise guy, I am sure his calculated move will bring him success. We should be catching up with each other on the 14 March 2011. Till then, Mumbai rock nah.

We would like to wish all ACSians 'A happy 125th Founder's Day'.
The best is yet to be.
