Adieu 2012!

Finally, we went to the Singapore Flyer yesterday. The tickets given to us by Fyn months ago expire today. It's an experience and we felt like foreign tourists visiting Singapore. What's more, we proceed to Chinatown after that.

The last 2 hours of 2012. Nothing spectacular this year, still we are thankful that everyone is in good health. With blessings from near and afar, our children graduated. Fyn will attend her graduation ceremony come next July.

See you next year.............. ciao!!!

Greetings near and afar

Christmas Day finally arrvives. It's always nice to receive X'mas greetings from loved ones and good friends. Most of my friends are a distance from me for everyone is too busy. But their greetings meant that I am thought of on this festive season. You guys rock and I meant it.

What a beautiful footballing weekend! Singapore were crowned Champions of South East Asia after beating Thailand 3-2 in a home and away finals. What's more, my favourite Arsenal is in 4th position in the Primier League table. Carry on kicking!!!!

Our Earth continues to spin

Happy Winter Solstice 2012 to everyone!!!

And now for the biggest joke in human history. Yeah, the world is supposed to end today. I woke up this morning and it's just another day. Those false prophets and smart Alexs who chose to misinterpret the Mayan long calendar and predicted the doomsday today, we say @#$% to you. Our Earth continues to spin and we are still breathing. Let's move on.

Sleep a little more

I really do not know how to have a smaller stomach. My only luxury I have is food. Diet is not in my dictionary and I can only eat less. Exercise? At my age, there is a limit. Worst, it's inconsistance. So how? I read an article which said sleeping can reduce weight. If that is so, I going to retire early everynight. Hmm........... let you know if it works. Goodnight.

Quiet

I have been having dinner with my wife lately. Nothing strange. It's just that my job needs me to stay back often. So, having a dinner together with Margaret is a luxury. After all these years, she must have used to it. A wonderful wife for a hard working husband. Haha... self praise is international disgrace. LOL.

Ok, let's move on. Another weekend to go before Christmas 2012. Our home is pretty quiet for Fyn is away in India and Smily, hardly returns home early. Margaret is feeling the loneliness or quietness of life without children. This is life. Sooner or later, our children will leave us to set out their own family. Definitely, we will try to work as long as we can. To retire early and doing nothing is a no-no. With the money earned, we can look forward to our holiday abroad annually.

Another graduate in my family

Congratulation to my neice Kate Ng on her graduation in US. I bet my late parents are proud of her achievement and smiling all day up there. Three cheers to my 3rd brother Francis Ng and sister-in-law too. Gong xi gong xi!!!!

Here she goes! Fyn has just boarded the plane to Bangalore and will be back in January 2013 next year. She is doing charity work at the Bangalore Children's Home. Take care and bon voyage!!!

My children today

I have accepted that both my children do not need me to worry for them anymore. And I am not going to worry for them either. For good or for bad, they decide what they doing. They should know what is best for them.

Whatever is happening to them, Margaret is the one who keep me updated. For my son, I believe he is working very hard on his job. He would open our bedroom door and call us whatever he reach home. After which this well-mannered son would return to his room.
My daughter has officially completed her study. She is leaving for some charity work in Bangalore India tomorrow. I understand she is also travelling to Taj Mahal after that. Honestly, I do not know when she is coming back. Like my son, we hardly talk. Anyway, she has invited me and Margaret for tomorrow breakfast.

Guess children are always closest to their mother. So long as they are healthy and happy, nothing else matter to me. As a father, no news is good news. Happy holidays!

Patrick abdominal pain

They said lightning don't strike at the same place twice, right? Omg! I have 2 brothers in the hospital now. That is Thomas as mentioned in my earlier blog. Yes, and Patrick had been warded last night for abdominal pain. Doctors suspected gall stone but with all the tests done, they could not confirm. My poor younger brother has to go for further screening and test. We sincerely hope that nothing major comes out of it. Om mani padme hum.

Brother Thomas

We visited Thomas this afternoon at the Bright Vision Hospital. Yes, he is there for physiotherapy after treatment from SGH. Sadly, his Parkinson Disease started 8 years ago and since then it's getting not any better. We pray that his condition be maintained and controlled.

Thomas had been baptised recently and confirmed as a Christian. Miracles are hard to come by but you will never know. May the good Lord bless and be with him at this difficult period. May it be so.

Nearer to doomsday?

Yo! It's the last day of November 2012. Somehow time flies. Come tomorrow, we have December 2012 the last month and most celebrated period of the year. It's also scary to think that 2013 is just a month away.

Is December 21 2012 the end of the year as predicted? Or are we going to look back next year and laugh at all the hoo-ha created? One thing for sure, I am not interested in all these nonsense. But it's okay to have a little fun out of these. Let's see what excuses they'll give after the so called 'doomsday'.

Half day MC???

I surrendered. Went to the Polyclinic to consult a doctor for my flu after lunch. Prior to that, I was at work in the morning to settle an urgent matter. The doctor asked whether I need a MC or not. I requested for a half day afternoon MC and he was like 'huh'???? and blurred. Much to my surprise, he told me the clinic don't give half day MC. It's either they give a day or don't. I was not given a choice but to accept the 'one day' MC. So, remember hor..... no half day MC for Polyclinic patients.

Sadly, my sister called me yesterday to inform me that Thomas was admitted to the hospital again. It's never encouraged for a sick people to visit someone in hospital. Have to give him a miss till I recover. Meantime get well soon, Thomas!!!

Ugly

I have just erased what I had written i.e. the ugly side of friends especially those I came to know recently. After thinking twice or thrice, I shall honor what I set out in the first place... not to insult or write anything bad about anyone. What some of these people do is beyond ..... I am never disappointed but surprise that these species exist. Om... to each his own and let's live and let live.

I am down with flu and it's just the beginning. Have not consult a doctor and allow my body to fight the virus. Anyway, I have a medical appointment at the Polyclinic this Friday. Should I get worse by then, it going to be medical leave. Gosh! I rather be healthy.

It's 5-2

A relaxing Sunday with no programme to look forward to. Simply idling at home. Ok, the shiok feeling lingers on as my favorite Wenger's team Arsenal thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 last night. Deja vu!

Monsoon rain

The wet season is here. It starts to rain every afternoon for the past weeks. There comes a time where it will rain for 3 continuous days. For the past record, it occurs on the last week of December every year. So, bring an umbrella wherever you go.

Arsenal welcome arch-rival Tottenham Hotspur to the Emirates Stadium this evening. It should start in about an hour time. They have 2 ex-Arsenal players in which one of them boasted to beat Arsenal on home ground. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope my favorite team emerge victorious.

Playing with apps

I am going gaga over those photo and camera apps. Downloading and playing with them drives me crazy. A little behind time but it's better late than never. Now I know how these youngsters created and post those amazing pictures. Thanks to my 1 month old Samsung Galaxy S3 handphone.

Christmas is near. Yes, it's about a month away. The decoration and atmosphere are building up at Orchard Road. The Toa Payoh gang has outgrown those presents received. Nowadays, shopping vouchers as X'mas present will do. That save us a lot of time, not to mention headache, to shop and wrap them. Looking back, my kids really believed Santa Claus brought those presents to them while they were asleep. Gosh! I was secretly happy to be their Santa while Margaret their Santarina. Ho ho ho.....

Family in Malaysia

There is nothing strange for my whole family to be in Malaysia yesterday. But for the fact that all of us were in there seperately. Me and Margaret were at JB City Square for the food and some shopping. Yes, we knew Fyn were on the road with her friends. They were travelling down from Kuala Lumpur on their 'Roadtrip to Malaysia 2012'. Surprisingly, I read from the Facebook Smily was in JB attending a wedding dinner. In short, all of us were in our neighbouring country. Malaysia Boleh!!!!

Hello.... space calling! This is Kevin Ng saying a big 'Thank You' for all the birthday wishes received on Facebook, thru sms message and what's app, etc. Of course not forgetting my wife and children together with my mother-in-law on the dinner celebration. Sincerely from the bottom of my heart, I am happy and honour to be remembered and treasured by all of you. You guys rock!!!!!

Happy holidays! My colleague and his wife are in Bangkok for a short vacation. Hot from the oven, a message just came in that he had a good rub down for 200 baht. Wish I was there. By the way, my younger brother Patrick will be travelling to Guangzhou this weekend too. Phew! I nearly forgot. My daughter Fyn left for Malacca this morning. Bon Voyage to all !!!!

America decides and I am helping him to win votes. Joke asides, may Obama returns to a second term as President of the United States of America.I find him adorable and believe he will not send his troop to war. All the best!!!!

My poor eldest brother, Thomas Ng has been warded at the SGH since last Saturday 3 November 2012. Got to know it from my sister yesterday. Thank God, I do not need to work late this evening and managed to pay him a visit. Understand his lungs are giving him problem. Let us pray that he get well soon.

Aching

No doubt Arsenal had lost to Man U (1-2) last night, it's still a beautiful Sunday. A better team deserves to win. Full stop.

What's up, today? Me and Margaret will be having lunch with Patrick & wife and Roger. A simple meal at a hawker centre with these brothers. I understand Patrick will be on a businees trip to China next week. Bon Voyage.

What else? A massage appointment this evening. Gosh! I need this rub down very badly. My back is aching all over. Of course, Margaret will be there too. Ooh la la....

Birthdays on November

It's my birthday month, November 2012. Mature people does not fancy birthday anymore. Not that we wish to be reminded that we are getting older and older each year. But it's not as scary as I thought, to live in my early 50s. So long as I am healthy, I consider it to be a blessing. The good thing is my children are young adults and the pressure is on them to build their future.

Yes, Happy Birthday to our dearest daughter too. Her special day falls on Saturday 3 November 2012. Enjoy your celebration!!!
