S'pore Food Festival 2008

Yo! How in the world could we miss this festival? That's why we were there this evening. I am talking about the Singapore Food Festival @ Lau Pa Sat.The stretch of Boon Tat Road is closed to traffic and me, Margaret and Fyn had our dinner in the middle of the road. What an experience for them!!!
Fyn went for the ice-ball @ $1 each. Back in my childhood days, they were selling at 5 cents each. Yes, you didn't read wrongly. 5 cents each.Time flies and money is getting smaller.
We had satay, popiah and others for dinner. Talking about satay, I began to have doubts that it's a local Malay food after watching a Chinese variety show on TV. In it, they were saying that satay were originated from China and brought here by the early Hokkien immigrants. The word satay means 'three pieces' in Hokkien. If you observe carefully, each stick of satay consists of 3 pieces of meat. Whatever, who cares?
Back to Lau Pa Sat, we had a band playing live music with lots of '60s hits from Cliff Richard and the Shadows, The Hollies, etc. Let the good times roll.......
