The Great Wall of China

Smily, Margaret and Fyn at the summit of the Great Wall of China

My late father once said, 'You can only be considered a hero when you have stepped onto the Great Wall of China'. Today, I can proudly say that my family conquered and reached the summit of it in 2001. The scenery at Badaling was breathtaking. It was winter and the steps were wet. We had to be careful climbing the steps. For they were young, both kids were ahead of us. Margaret was puffed out by the time she reached the top. As Chinese, all of us felt a sense of achievement and fulfilment in the end. Long live the Great Wall of China, the pride and joy of the Chinese.
