My mother used to chant Om Mani Padme Hum and prayed to Kuan Yin Buddhisattva, commonly known as the Goddess of Mercy. Now that she is bedridden, I have continued her chanting and prayers in silence whenever I visit her. I am sure it could relieve her pain, discomfort and suffering.
