Ho Chi Minh 2012 ( Day 1 )

First and foremost, Selamat Hari Raya Haji to our Muslim friends. Yes, we are back after 5 days in South Vietnam. We were on our own on the 1st day and thankfully our hotel was located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh District 1. Upon checking in, we started our exploration.

Craze of the day

Basically spent my whole day chasing over this Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE. What's so great about it? Honestly, I can't answer. All I knew was...... my contract with my service provider expired and it's time to get a new handset at a discounted price upon renewing it.

Holy shit! I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I went to M1 Paragon at noon without realising they were promoting Sumsung Note 2 LTE. A crazy crowd with a crazy queue. After waited for about an hour, I gave up.

At about 3pm, I finally got what I desired at an authorised dealer in Toa Payoh. They accepted my trade-in and gave me $100 for the old phone. The good new was I got another 50 bucks for the loyalty reward.

In the evening, I was running about looking for the screen protector and the casing for this S3. Now that I am about to retire, I shall name today as my 'Samsung Galaxy S3' Day.

Kill the boredom

Though I am sick and on medical leave today, I killed the boredom by learning to dance the Gangnam Style through Youtube. In the evening, I presented it to Margaret and she said it's more of a monkey dance. After some fine tuning and adjustment, she was excited. Yes, I knew my dancing was almost there. OMG! A man in the 50s doing the Gangnam Style.  Oppan gang-namseutayil.......

Food poisoning

Damn it! I am down with food poisoning. Most probably it's the raw mince Tuna I had 2 days ago. Come to think of it, where in the world do I had the guts to consume it? Now, the thought and image of it makes me want to vomit. I have consulted my doctor and given medication. Wishing myself a 'speedy recovery'.

Later than sooner

Thank God. Sheryl is on the recovery stage after a successful operation at KKH. I visited her this evening and she was well. Understand that she may be discharge tomorrow. Let's pray for her speedy recovery. Meantime, Smily started his job at HSBC today. All I know is.... he is in the finance sector. So long as he is comfortable and happy, I have no worry.

I was told that I can only upgrade my mobile contract on 20 October 2012 and that is the earliest. On the next day 21 Oct 2012, I will be leaving for Ho Chi Minh for a 5 days vacation. The chances is I can only do my upgrade upon my return i.e. having my dream Samsung Galaxy S3 later than sooner. Sigh.........

Smily 25th Pizza Birthday



Happy 25th Birthday to our son Smily!!!! The celebration was a simple dinner at Skinny Pizza Restaurant @ Raffles City as proposed by the birthday boy. Needless to say, it's all pizzas with different toppings. Something for a change.

Besides me and Margaret, we also have Fyn and Sheryl at the dining table. Sadly, Sheryl will be going for an operation at TTSH on 9 October 2012. We pray for her operation to be successful and a speedy recovery too. Om.............

Childhood Friends

It's always nice to meet good old pals. I just caught up with my ex-secondary classmates at Serangoon last evening. Many of them could not make it and though there were 5 of us present, it made no difference. For most of them are season travellers, they enlightened me on Ho Chi Minh and Europe. We called it a day at 11.15pm. Till we gather again at CNY 2013, Ciao!!!!!!

OMG! Benny is excited on the coming Mini Polymates Reunion this coming Tuesday. Both Teng Tong and King Seng confirmed their attendance and Arjan is still pending. In fact, I met Rita Charles at Novena MRT Station while returning home on one of the evening last week. You wouldn't believe we spent about 20 minutes chatting, standing next to the Control Station. My childhood friends rawk!!!!!

Let's meet up

Aiyoyo!!! A time to catch up with good old pals again. Just meet up with my ex-colleagues ( ex-HHG ) and buddy Leslie Lee recently and I gonna attend another gathering organised by my ex-secondary classmates this Friday. Another noisy bunch going crazy whenever we reunite.

Hey! I have not seen my ex-Poly mates since last year. Anyway, both Benny and I are going to have a simple dinner at Balestier next Tuesday evening. Most probably there will be one or two will be joining in. If not, it's still okay for we have a lot to catch up after all these years.
