We would like to wish our Buddhist friends
' Happy Vesak Day '.
( le jour heureux de vesak )

Buddhists worldwide enjoy the arrival of this holy day on the full moon of the fourth Chinese Lunar month. It represents a simultaneous celebration of the birth, enlightenment and the passing into nirvana of the Lord Buddha.

May all that have life be delivered from suffering - Buddha.

Feeling empty

Arsenal end the season 08/09 empty-handed. Their achievements this season are the semi-finals in the Euro Champions League and the English FA Cup together with a ( most probably ) fourth placing in the English Premier League. I do not expect much with such a young team. A 4th successive season without a tropy.

Yesterday was the third seven of the mourning period for my late mother. Me, Margaret, my brothers and in-laws gathered at the Bright Hill Temple for a small ceremonial ritual. Surprisingly, it's also Francis Ng's birthday. Shy to say, I could not remember every of my family's members birthday.

Working part-time

Me and Margaret had a small chat with our son, Smily, the other night. Well, he is working part-time as a promoter selling branded watches in a bazaar. Guess he is doing reasonably well and more importantly, enjoys what he is doing. He excitedly showed us the laptop he bought recently. Of course, with the money we transferred to him. It comes in handy when he further his studies in the coming months.

Arsenal beat Portsmouth 3-0 with a reserve team last night. With 3 more matches to go, they have nothing to play for except to maintain their 4th position in the English Premier League. Don't forget to watch the return leg of the semi-final against Manchester United in the UE Champions League this coming Tuesday. Arsenal rock!

May 2009

May day, May day ! It's not a SOS but a public holiday in Singapore. I am glad that April 2009 is history and may this May brings joy and happiness to everyone especially my family members. What do we have this month? Labour Day that is on today, Vesak Day, Mother's Day, Dumpling Festival and Clarissa's birthday. Did I say Mother's Day? I am still wondering whether to celebrate with my mother-in-law and Margaret for my mother had passed away recently. I am pretty sure that she want me to move on. Let's see.

Evening edition

Patrick called to update us that our maternal 5th uncle passed away on Monday 27 Apr 2009. Our deepest condolences.

Faulty phone

Most of my friends are on leave these few days cos' Friday May 1 is a public holiday. For those having a vacation overseas, Happy Holidays! My works slow down a little. I am more relax and less hectic which suits me well. No more overseas vacation till Margaret's knee surgery and recovery.
My handphone is faulty and my contract with M1 expires on 14 Oct 2009. I called them the other day and was told that I could renew it on 13 Jun 2009. That is to say that I could trade-in my handphone and buy a new one by then. But one and a half month is a long time and it's not worth to service it either. What to do? Bear with it lah. Hello hello........ I cannot hear you........... phone faulty lah..............

Surgery postponed

What a joke! Margaret's knee surgery has been postponed to 10 June 2009 by the hospital. Reason : swine flu epidemic. In fact, I was having this thought last night. Guess she has to bear with the pain for another month or so. Better to be safe than sorry.

Perfume fair

I went shopping during my lunchtime to kill my loneliness. I did get a good deal at the perfume fair at SAFRA Toa Payoh on Friday. For S$77 I got a Lanvin 100ml perfume and 150ml body shampoo, Mont Blanc 50ml perfume and a deodorant stick. The bazaar ends this evening at 8pm. Check it out!

Margaret will be going for a minor knee surgery at the General Hospital this Wednesday 29 April 2009. Pray that the surgery is a successful one. Well, I am confident that she will be running around Orchard Road this coming Great Singapore Sale.

Let's move on

Thank you to all our relatives, friends and colleagues for coming over to pay their last respect to our late mother. For those who couldn't make it, we say 'thank you too'. We appreciate all your prayers, care and concern.
I am humbled by the few 'not-in-talking term' friends who gave my late mother the highest respect by contributing money. Please accept my bow as a respect to you in return. Thank you for putting the boxing match on hold. We shall resume after my mourning period. I hope not. Haha..
For I was sad and frustrated, I wasn't in my right frame of mine. Should anyone be offended by my words and action, I apologise. Let's move on.
