I complain
Not all Europeans are gentlemen. I do not know which part of Europe they came from. Be it individual, in group and as a family, they jumped queue to enter the St Peter's Basilica. It really showed the ugly side of them. Worst, in the land of the Holy.
Our tour manager kept reminding us to take care of our money and passports especially in Milan, Rome and Paris. There were plenty of daylight robberies and pickpockets. Our tour members witnessed a young Korean been pickpocketed while taking pictures of Eiffel Tower on a night cruise. We could only sympathise with her while she cried. In short, Europe is never safe as protrayed.
Talking about food, let's start with the breakfast. The 13 breakfast we had from Italy to Switzerland to France to London, were all the same. Bread, ham, sausage, scramble egg, etc. Really, really sick of them. We were looking forward to the Italian and French cuisine but were disappointed. Maybe we were not served in true tradition form.

Backfire
When I was much younger, I thought that by working hard and successfully complete a task assigned would help me improve my career. But that was not to be. Even when I reached my 30s, I was going nowhere. As a contract staff, many times I would be jobless for a month or two. Salary was just so-so.
Looking at others, I wondered how they earned good money and successful. They were no better than me. Then I came to realise that they had the element of 'LUCK'. Often they landed in mega projects which offered above market rate salary and good terms of contract.
Besides, I was always backstabbed by colleagues as I was a happy-go-lucky guy. Those so called brothers/friends who were liars and putting me down secretly. Till today, this type of rascals exist. I no longer need to fear for 'Luck' is on my side. There is such a word called 'Backfire'. Try me!

Didn't I promise?
Inside looking out
Didn't I promise you lots and lots of pictures on our Europe trip? Whatever posted is just a fraction of what we snapped. We needed fast fingers for wherever we went were in transit. Rush and rush and rush till our last day in London. That was free and easy.
There were many 'first time' for us in this trip.
1. Thirteen hours flight from Singapore to Milan Italy.
2. Our Ist time in Europe and visiting 5 countries at one go.
3. Need to change 3 currencies namely Euro, Swiss Franc and British Pound.
4. On snowcapped alp 3000m above sea level and experienced snow.
5. Visit 3 countries in one day Lucerne Switzerland, Titisee Germany and Colmar France.
6. Longest holiday ever, 15 days away from home.
7. Our most costly tour inclusive of tour fares and expenditure.
8. Most expensive bowl of plain rice in London Chinatown at 2 pounds (about S$4) per bowl.
It's in every Catholic's dream to visit Vatican City. Margaret toured St Peter's Basilica which is the world largest Cathedral. To me, the architecture is incredible. So are the Duomos in Italy. There are so many things to write (the good and the bad) and will follow up in the coming blog.
